Research in Action Workshop
January 15, 2020
FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME…
Dr. Arin Reeves and Dr. Krista N. Robinson-Lyles present Nextions Academy’s full-day “Research in Action” workshop to provide diversity and inclusion practitioners with the research and strategies you need to make the difference they want to make in your workplaces.
Be our guest for this specially curated experience, where you and your peers will gather for in-depth, creative, and thought-provoking discussions and exercises.
Cost of Admission: $1200 per guest
Application deadline: November 15, 2019
You will learn about the power and challenges of being a catalyst for change, research trends in leadership and majority responses to diversity and inclusion efforts, and the behavioral model for driving sustainable inclusion in workplaces today.
You will leave with mindfulness research and exercises to ground you and give you resilience tools to approach your challenging work, tools for establishing a personal vision for your work, and tips for applying the behavioral model to key workplace functions, including recruitment, hiring, evaluations, mentoring, and sponsorship.
What does the registration fee cover and when is it due?
The registration fee covers participation in the workshop on the date of the workshop, including materials, books, food, and beverages. The cost does not cover travel, lodging arrangements or any expenses incurred outside of the workshop. The registration fee is due in its entirety within two weeks of the date that the applicant has been notified of acceptance into the workshop. Selected applicants will receive an emailed invoice with their notice of acceptance.
Is Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit available for this workshop?
We are currently applying with the Illinois MCLE Board to obtain three hours of CLE credit in the jurisdiction of Illinois for each workshop guest. Credit for other jurisdictions may be available on a case-by-case basis for applicants selected into the workshop. Such applicants may make a request directly with Nextions for CLE credit in another jurisdiction. At this time, we cannot guarantee that workshop guests will be provided CLE credit in Illinois or in any other jurisdiction.
Why is there an application process?
This workshop is carefully curated to design a unique and productive experience for each guest and the collective group. We will offer additional workshops in the near future and will keep all submitted applications to invite guests to future workshops if they are not selected for this one.
Will this workshop be offered in my city in the future?
We’re glad you asked! At this time, the Research in Action Workshop is offered only in Chicago, IL. Let us know where you think we should go next. We are planning to launch in other cities at a future date.
What if my organization/firm does not have a workplace wellness initiative?
Our workplace wellness practice is designed to provide you with tools to support your personal mental and emotional wellness, in addition to the workplace. It is our belief that the more grounded you feel in your work environment, the healthier and more sustainable your relationship will be to the work you do. Guests may also find that the wellness tools and practices experienced during the workshop offer an entry point into conversations with others within their workplace about workplace wellness and creating work environments where all can thrive.
Will the workshop space be physically accessible?
Yes, the workshop will be held in a physically-accessible location. The building is equipped with an elevator, all workshop sessions will take place on one level of the building, and seating arrangements can be made to accommodate a variety of needs.
